pictures with my new toy camera

I got this new tiny digital camera for about $25. It takes really low resolution pictures. Here are some of the first ones... I'm kind of having trouble getting it to work right. The chocolate bar picture isn't one of them.

Fulbright Grantee Weekend in Oslo

i had to go to Oslo to meet all the other Fulbright grantees. they were mostly boring. they talked about the same things over and over again. mostly stuff about their colleagues and authoring papers and stuff like that. i'm not against people getting their PhDs and all that, but i *am* against anything that consumes someone's life and makes them bad company. loosen up, academia!! oh, and if you're one of the grantees and you somehow found this page: i'm totally not talking about you. you and i are cool.
final conclusion: Bergen is better than Oslo.

some photos from the first few days in Bergen. at first i couldn't figure out wot the symbol on the 50 Ore coin was, then i turned it sideways and realized that it's a giraffe eating a sea squid, a common sight in Norway. i asked Stoffen why they had a giraffe eating a sea squid on their money (it's on the bills as well) and he said he'd never even noticed that symbol before. wot kind of fear is the Norwegian government trying to subliminally place into its citizens?
